N Hex nuts come in 5 sizes, but P287 has standardized on 19MM (0.748" so a 3/4 head works well). Other common sizes in the US are 13/16 and 3/4, while in other countries 18mm, 19mm, & 20mm are common. We recommend 12 in-lbs for precision N's. Standard brass N's work well finger tight, but if one is concerned with uniformity use an 8 in-lb wrench. The 74z-0-0-193 Type N Torque wrench is from Huber Suhner.
Most Commonly purchased N Torque Wrenchs: CT-N75-12 & CT-N75-12B.
Note: 3/4 wrenches work well on 19mm nuts.
Calibration Certificates: We outsource our torque wrenches. Some don’t have any cal certificate (ex Huber Suhner 74Z-0-0-21, our CT-SMA8C, etc). Some come with a certificate which is dated because its been on the shelf for awhile (CT-516-8 etc). All parts are tested 100% in ISO9000 certified facilities. Should you need a current Cal Certificate, we can have this done at a local lab; $60 ea, 2 weeks; see product at bottom of each page to order.
